William Blake

Developing my old wives' tale brief to have a stronger narrative at the moment and I decided to have a look at William Blake. I studied him back in A-level English and I vividly remember his beautiful illustrations that accompanied his work. Below is a small selection of these illustrations.

I do not want to use colour in my versions as I want to keep it fitting with the bottle as best I can. However I am open to the idea of doing a watercolour piece and then greyscaling it.

One element I definitely want to take away from these pieces is the relationship between the words and the images - they become one and fit in and around each other. Is a beautiful image of work.
