For my old wives tale brief I am doing some research into products that use interesting bottle shapes, old packaging techniques, colours, materials and branding.
Beautiful old bottle that looks very precious (would like this for my brief). Am also drawn to the gold seal on the front side of the bottle. However, I would prefer the seal to serve a purpose or action - actually seal the lid on or something.
Here is a similar bottle however I think the gold string makes it look much stronger and eye-catching. It also serves a purpose and is not there solely for aesthetics. Think the label is too busy but that is works with the bottle and tie.
Why does the labelling and branding have to be horizontal? Like this packaging due to the fact that they have been adventurous and as a result make the bottles stand out more. Too simple and clean for my brief however still relevant.
Would love to seal my bottles into a wood case with a gold seal and ribbon/string (as shown below)...
Interesting shape used on the branding - why should it just sit within the label? Interested in the idea of making a brand logo which stands on its own more.
Interesting and delicate label shapes. This may be too decorative for my brief however I definitely want something other than a standard rectangular label. I also think having a different shaped label adds to the high-end feel I want to create for these products.
