Kraken Rum

Kraken Rum have produced a beautiful media kit for their latest spirit. "The kit is set up as a "proof" kit, each element inside is one piece of proof that the mythical Kraken sea monster exists. It includes a Kraken tooth, Kraken ink, a log book, a scroll, a feather, movies of the Kraken, and lastly a bottle of The Kraken." www.thedieline.com/blog/2009/11/the-kraken-media-kit.html

This is another example of the kind of design work I want to produce for my Old Wives' Tale brief. The elements I want to take from this are:
1. The is a limited colour palette, with black being the key element.
2. The approach to the packaging used is also key - old fashioned poison/chemist bottles and materials.
3. Use of ink for the illustrations and writing.
4. Ribbons and seals.
5. A range of shapes and sizes.
6. The advertising material too - I would like posters, leaflets etc - each piece of packaging will require its own mini booklet anyway to explain the tale, however I need to think about the overall branding too.

Overall, another beautiful piece of packaging, is definitely inspiring the way in which I develop this brief.
