research into existing food packaging...

Even though I am designing a pasta range I am interested to see what other kind of high end packaging there is at the moment. I also want to find out if there seems to be a set way of designing for high-end products. Whether that be type, layout, colour or scale.

All the following images have been taken from thedieline.com.

BAKERY =bold, eye-catching type that acts as informer and image.
CUCINA = a toiletry range. Uses a similar tones throughout the range and has a standard format of layout. Uses simply decoration to make the brand look more high-end and valuable.

Love the side detail of pattern, no area has not been considered. It all looks to be finished to a very high degree and the attention to detail is good. I need to remember this when I detail my packaging - all areas must look considered!
DOREST CEREALS = one of the first cereals to package produce in a way which meant the consumer was willing to spend more money on basically the same product. Using the same layout throughout the range allows for consistence and makes the brand easily recognisable. Would like to maybe try and use a band across the bottom of my pasta packaging so that the information can be recorded and displayed in a standard manner.
FRESH PASTA = Here the illustrations are very simple and allow for the produce.
Maybe something more subtle is required...a spot gloss or embossing.

Could the type do all the talking or is imagery needed for my pasta? I do not think photographs would fit in with the piece below - the is too much going on.

Initial idea was to create something which went the whole way around the book/box...

Existing Waitrose designs...are very simple and use photography to show the product off.
Ikeas food range...

Selfridges and Co food range...
