research...

more design inspiration from http://printpattern.blogspot.com/

From the first research post for the festive leeds brief I have responded to my interest in patterns and here are more examples.

Very simple but effective. The different scales work well to create more interest and composition. Unsure on the colour palette though, not typical Christmas colours, does this matter though?

Again simple. The clear block images work well to create the tree and clearly relate to christmas.

Do not think this colour way works as well as the previous, however I still like it and believe the message running along like the ground is a lovely touch.

Love the animals! I think it is a great christmas card design if you do not want to go down the typical route of christmas trees and stars/snowflakes etc.

Drawn to this piece because of the overlay of colours...creating a third colour as a by product. Think this is definitely something I would like to do if the pattern allowed it.

Focusing on the left image...
this is what I mean when I said in an earlier post about using snowflakes etc to create the type....(even though this example is of a reindeer!!)
