Emily Hogarth

Check her work out atemilyhogarth.blogspot.com/ and at www.emilyhogarth.com

She is an Edinburgh textiles graduate and creates these beautiful pieces of work. I have put her work on to my blog as I am interested in the materials and techniques she uses. The overall effect is like that of my 'stencil' snowflakes and I believe I could develop my work to be a layered stencil piece of work. Perhaps this could then be screenprinted in different colours, allowing the colours to overlap and mix.

This is definitely the next stage of my development for this brief once I have concluded my christmas jumper route! I may also bring this up in my crit tomorrow as I want to check I am not going off on a tangent and that this could work well and create a stronger, overall piece.

This one is especially like my snowflake development (ok a little more detailed!)

Love the reflection of this piece, seems to be a central element in a lot of Hogarth's work. This will work well for the symmetry in snowflakes.

If I did develop my design work into stencils then I could also start to play with colour.
